The Set Position Hold block allows you to define how the InoDrive handles rotor position motor when the motor is not being instructed to run.
Item |
Description |
A |
Select the Slot for the particular InoDrive you want to define position hold |
B |
Check box to indicate to the selected InoDrive that you have added a mechanical holding brake to the mechanism that is NOT part of the motor’s defined Axis configuration. Checking this checkbox will enable the output terminal to supply voltage to the user added brake. |
C |
From the drop down, select the desired position hold method |
Position Holding Methods
Item |
Description |
Active |
The InoDrive provides active torque to hold the rotor position (Default). |
OFF Free |
The motor phase circuits are open from the drivers and the rotor is free to turn with only the drive train’s mechanical inertia providing any holding force. |
OFF Regen |
The motor phase circuits are shunted to the drivers and the rotor is free to turn with only the drive train’s mechanical inertia and rotor’s magnetic induced EMF providing any holding force. |
Holding Brake |
The InoDrive will use the output terminal signal to control an attached mechanical holding brake |

Set Custom Delays |
This custom delay will, in milliseconds, delay the disengaging of the motor after the motor begins, or delay the holding brake from engaging once the motor has stopped. |
